James Ryce is a singer/songwriter born and raised in Kingston Ontario. At a young age James performed with a few bands playing a variety of music styles including Rock and Reggae before finding a home in Country music at the age of 18.
In the late 1980’s James performed across Canada with his band "My Brother James" but then settled into a work life while still performing throughout South and Eastern Ontario. Through the years James has had many opportunities to play on the same shows as some of his favorite Country music acts and has learned from those performers. The last few years has seen James playing on a lot of jamboree circuits both as a featured performer as well as part of the jamboree backup band. James has always been a supporter of up-and-coming singers and musicians making their way in the music scene. His current band "James Ryce and Top Shelf" is made up of amazing musicians who all love and enjoy playing classic country music.
