1998 Inductees -"The Musicmen"
The Musicmen, formed in 1961 by Ted Daigle, were one of the most well known and
respected bands in the Ottawa Valley.
Over the years, they shared the stage with many stars, such as Buck Owens, Ray Price,
Bob Luman and David Houston, just to name a few.
Stars in their own right on TV, they also had a long running live radio
show on CKOY and have many albums and singles to their credit.
The original members of The Music Men were honored by the Hall of Fame,
for their many contributions to the country music entertainment industry. Lead guitarist Gil Glazier today enjoys life back in his beloved Maritimes, where he continues to entertain, as well as being involved in the manufacture and repair of the instrument he so dearly loves. Drummer Byron Stever also has close ties with the East Coast but shares that part of the country with the Ottawa Valley, where he continues to be a much-sought-after traditional country music drummer. |
