Director - Information Technology Dale Ducharme
Dale grew up in Ottawa Ontario, and to use a cliché, he was “Raised on Country Music!” Dale was fortunate enough to have a father, Dan Ducharme, who was an aspiring Country Music singer/musician, teach him the rules of the road when it comes to playing and singing Country Music. Dale's mother Eileen, used to call him Johnny – One – Note, due to the fact that the first cord progression his father taught him, was played countless of times (practice makes perfect you know…), and will forever be embedded in the minds of his parents. With diligence, patience, and with the help of my family members, he learned to play guitar. Over his musical career of the last 24 years, Dale has had the opportunity to play with Valley notables such as Hi & Dri Country (with his Father), George Essery, Ralph Carlson, Neville Wells, Gary Fairburn and Donna Moon, and Rick Thompson to name a few. Dale was asked to join the Ottawa Valley Country Music Hall of Fame board of Directors back in November of 99’, as a web designer and IT (information Technology) board representative. He also served as HOF's President from Jan 2005 to Feb 2008. In 2009, Dale took over Directing the HOF induction ceremony, from his Father Dan. Dan still serves as co-producer. Dale lives in Ottawa Ontario, with his wife and three kids, and works for the Canadian Federal Government as a Senior Systems Informatics Officer. Dale continues to volunteer his time playing music occasionally, and pouring efforts into the HOF to ensure that this legacy will not be forgotten. |
